The trees are God’s great alphabet: With them He writes in shining green.Across the world His thoughts are serene.
Everyone encounters trees everyday regardless of where they live and I believe you will never meet a billboards as lovely as a tree. I am certain everyone can list the ecological and environmental value of trees. But how about the personal and spiritual benefits??
Trees are beautiful and majestic. People tend to make personal connections with the trees they encounter over a period of time.
Take this tree for example, it has stood at this corner in my mothers farm for over 30 years. Look what it does to my sunset sky! Isnt it Amazing?? And you wonder why a woman in England got married to a tree…
There is always music amongst trees; could be from the whistling of the leaves or the chirping of the birds but our hearts must be very quiet to hear it. They give a place for the birds to showcase their beauty and wonder. It is more than first a seed, then a stem, then a living trunk and then dead timber. The tree is a slow enduring force straining to win the sky…
Without trees who would purify our air?? Who would be at the front line in the fight against global warming?? Where would the birds make their home?
If this tree could tell a story, It would tell you how different elephants have had fun torturing it. It would tell you it once lived, and even now in ‘death’ it continues to add beauty at the Marsh circuit in olpejeta conservancy.
Trees will always give you a pleasant relaxed and comfortable environment. Always remember rest is not idleness and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a sunny day, listening to the murmur of water or watching the clouds float across the blue sky is by no means waste of time.
Until next time…Take time and hug a tree
